As a second degree black belt and martial artist for over ten years, I have a deep appreciation for the human body, and the way we honor it through movement, with care. The body holds ancient wisdom, as our portal between the tangible realm of the physical world and the intangible realms of consciousness itself. As such, the breath is the vehicle that allows us to drop into conscious presence, and the asanas (physical postures in yoga) serve as part of our roadmap to deeper awareness, stability, and connection with ourselves and one another.
I teach a simple, beginner-friendly, breath-focused vinyasa class, with asana loosely inspired by ashtanga sequencing. Each class incorporates meditation and pranayama, for a well-rounded practice that helps the practitioner come to a deeper state of awareness. My practice blends the polarities and synchronicities of different yogic traditions, both modern and ancient, connected by the primary objective to bring awareness to the true nature of the self: the basic goodness that exists within all beings. My classes prioritize creating safe and open space for students to feel at home within their bodies—to connect with the present moment: cultivating bodily and mental awareness, compassion towards oneself and others, and building a sense of peace from within.
My practice follows the 8 limb path, towards collective liberation. In its purest form (free of Western projections), yoga is inherently revolutionary: by healing ourselves, we can better support those around us. By quieting the fluctuations of the mind to find spaciousness within ourselves, we become better able to hold space for others—embracing all that is ‘good’ and ‘bad’, joy and suffering, equanimously.
I have trained in Ashtanga yoga with Kristin Leigh and Barbara Verocchi of the Shala Yoga House, Katonah yoga with Cari Friedman, and Meridian Yoga Therapy & Yin with Rose Erin Vaughan. All classes are trauma-informed.

May all beings everywhere be happy and free, and may the thoughts, words, and actions of my own life contribute in some way to that happiness and to that freedom for all.
